Scotty McCreery is helping to honor the victims of the December 2012 Connecticut school shooting.
The country star has been named the 12.14 Foundation's "National Goodwill Ambassador.' In this role the singer will help create awareness of the 12.14, promote the Foundation's arts programs, and assist in fundraising efforts for.
The Foundation was established to facilitate the building and operating of a performing arts center in Newtown, Connecticut. The organization's website says the center will serve as a tribute to the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting on December 14th, 2012, and support "many forms of healing and positive change."
